Our Life Together

Our Liturgy

Liturgical practice at Good Shepherd generally follows the form of the Book of Common Prayer. In our worship and praise of God, we strive to be inclusive and to recognize and affirm our gifts.

Here we post liturgical texts and other materials that are unique to our experience. These currently include podcasts of adult education forums, current and past sermons from many of our inspiring preachers, and the Liturgy for the Celebration of an Abiding Relationship.

Liturgy for the Celebration of an Abiding Relationship
In 1994, after serious discussion and in consultation with the Bishop of California, Good Shepherd undertook a journey in the development of a liturgy to celebrate relationships. The document, In All Our Loving, We Praise You, O God;" Celebrating Relationships at the Church of the Good Shepherd, contains the complete history of the journey, the liturgy—together with the sermon given at its first use—and notes from the congregational discussion that followed the celebration.

The document may be downloaded in PDF format (requires Adobe Acrobat).
